Heavy cast aluminum housing, and, all accenting parts are of a higher end quality than the fans you find at the home improvement warehouses. Mine spins rock steady on a 5' downrod. But, Hunter could afford to add a couple of details/accessories at this price level. A remote control, nice bulbs, and a 24" drop rod would have made it seem 'complete'. Including a remote control would have earned it a 5-star rating from me. Note: Drop rods are impossible to find, and, few lengths offered, in midnight copper....provencial gold is close, and, a good substitute.
